Most speech and language pathologist jobs are in schools. Other speech therapists work in hospitals, private clinics, speech and language pathologists, nursing care centers, home health care services, individual and family services, outpatient care centers, and day care services. Speech and language pathologists often work as part of a team, including teachers, doctors, audiologists, psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation counselors, and patients.

Graduate study in audiology and speech-language pathology includes both academic and clinical coursework and clinical practicum experiences—which are opportunities for students to develop skills in providing clinical services to various populations.

Corporate speech and language pathologists also work with employees to improve communication with their clients. There are numerous specialization courses in different areas of Human Communication that are available worldwide M.Sc., M.Phil. and doctoral programs are also available for a graduate who is pursuing higher education.
