General Election Duty Payment for the year 2024 was officially released by the government of Pakistan on February 5, 2024. The Ministry of Finance transferred a sum of Rs17.4 billion to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday. This amount is in addition to the Rs10 billion that had already been credited to the ECP for the upcoming general elections in February 2024. The Finance Division has issued an additional Rs17.4 billion, as reported by the division. As a result, the total amount allocated for election duty payment now stands at Rs27.4 billion.
