BSc Hons Subjects Career Scope Opportunities Eligibility Guideline information for admissions courses, jobs in requirements with complete instructions details. BSc Hons is a four year degree after intermediate with science. Majority of students prefer simple B.Sc after F.Sc Pre Medical, F.Sc Pre Engineering and A-Level but its not recommend because in our country students make just one aim in F.Sc i.e to become doctor or engineer.

They think that medical and engineering are the two only professions in life through which a man can lead a successful life and when they fail in getting admission in medical or engineering colleges, they decide about their future without seeking any professional advice. Its not a right approach at all. In fact after failure in getting one’s primary goal there is a need to think seriously about other further study options.

Eligibility For BSc (Hons) & BS 
Students who have passed F.Sc Pre Medical, F.Sc Pre engineering, I.C.S, FA General science and A Level certificate with Science subjects can apply for admission in Bachelor of Science Honors. Many colleges now take their internal entry test before granting admission. Admission is purely granted on merit basis but merit calculation formula differs from college to college.

Medium of Instruction & Subjects
Medium of instruction is English in this program. Almost all reputed colleges and universities offer this program. English, Pakistan Studies and Islamic Studies are compulsory subjects in BSc honors like all other bachelor program where as elective.optional subjects vary from course to course. Program is mostly offered in semester system and is also available through distance learning universities.

Scope of B.Sc Hons
B.Sc (Hons) and BS are much better options at this point of time as you can get in depth knowledge about your subject in BSc (Hons). You can avail better employment opportunities after (BSc Hons) than simple 2 years BSc. In some countries its a three year program but in Pakistan and majority of countries its a four year degree. B.Sc (Hons) is a recognized world widely. B.Sc (Honors) is considered equivalent MA/M.Sc and after completing this degree you can get admission directly in MS or M.Phil.

But those students who want to appear in competitive exams must remember that they can appear in CSS and PMS exams after completing theirs honors degree. But BSc students can appear in competitive exams 2 years after intermediate. On the other hand BSc (Honors) students have to wait for 4 years. But its also a fact that in these four years you get hold on your subject and you also get sufficient time for preparation of competitive exams. Now its all depends upon you that which path you prefer.

As its a four year intensive program so you must take this thing in mind that the college or university which you chose must has highly qualified faculty and well equipped science laboratories.

You can get job in your concerned area and definitely employer will prefer to hire you then simple associate degree holder. But remember one thing when your competitor’s and your’s qualification will be same then your knowledge and your commitment with your work matters a lot. Our age is era of specialization and its my personal advice for all of you to go for M.Phil or MS after B.Sc and even for PhD after MS and M.Phil. If you gets your desired job then you may get admission in distance learning universities. As you hard work in this stage of life will pay you in long run.
